I am an animator and graphic designer.

I was born in Zimbabwe, a country in the southern part of Africa, and being that I was living in what is considered a third world country I never got to see many cartoons. What little cartoons I did see where all old, but as time progressed on I started being able to watch more and more cartoons and the more I saw how artists could bring simple drawings to life, the more I wanted to be able to do the same.

 

The idea that someone could draw a character and bring that character to life with a simple notepad and a computer was amazing. I felt such joy in being able to put my imagination and the things I saw in my head and in real life on paper, it gave me a blissful feeling to be able to call myself an artist. I work hard, I work diligently and I never forget the fundamentals and by the end both the client and I are pleased.

 

I always refer back to the basics because they are what got me where I am in and they are the only way I can create artwork I will be proud of. If that means I have to spend an afternoon reviewing gesture drawings I don’t mind because by the end I am a better artist than when I first started.  I have chosen to be an artist so that the world can see the beauty that I see, I will never stop growing and I will never stop drawing.
